A Perfect Summer Day in London

Summer in London is an exceptional time of year when the sunshine lingers well into the night, children’s joyful laughter peppers the ambiance of each park and the milder temperatures bring an overall sense of levity to the atmosphere. Temperatures sit around 70°F (21°C) to 73°F (23°C) degrees with lows around 59°F (15°C). As ever, rain is something to be prepared for so we recommend carrying a light jacket and small umbrel

la with you.

Now go ahead, wrap yourself in the warm light of the elusive English sun and head out the door to our most treasured summer spots! Here’s a snapshot of what a perfect summer day in London looks like to us.

Iced Coffee & A Pastry

As the sun rises before 5:00 AM for much of the summer, you’ll want to zip over for some exceptional espresso to start your day! Saint Espresso’s Baker Street coffee bar is a short stroll from Regent’s Park in the heart of the distinguished neighbourhood of Marlyebone. We love a good iced latte, and Saint Espresso offers the best, along with delightfully seasonal pastries that change several times a year. Just off the Baker Street tube stop, fans of Sherlock Holmes will enjoy mosying around the eponymous statue before heading into the park.

Queen Mary’s Garden

With your coffee or tea and perfect pastry in hand, wander over to Queen Mary’s Garden in Regent’s Park which houses London’s largest collection of roses along with a gorgeous “Jungle Border” that shows off the world-class botanical design of London’s best horticulturists! The best time to visit is within the first two weeks of June where you’ll see the stately garden’s 12,000 roses in full bloom. There are 85 single variety beds on display, including one which is home to 'Royal Parks' rose, as well as picturesque statues, fountains and cascading waterfalls. An unexpected find at the center of such a busy metropolis, the longstanding garden is near and dear to Londoners’ hearts.

Marylebone Village

Marylebone Village is one of the most distinctive shopping destinations in London and will be a delight for you and your loved ones to explore after your majestic outing to the gardens. With an emphasis on high quality products and supreme personal service, Marylebone Village offers a unique blend of independent boutiques and larger, more established brands on its vibrant stretch of shops, restaurants and cafes.   The White Company and  RIXO are our top choices for boutique shopping!

Read a Book in Hyde Park

Bring a book to London’s stunning Hyde Park, find a lounge chair and indulge in an afternoon of reading by the Italian Gardens under the rustling trees. A staple of the park since 1860, the water garden presents a taste of Tuscany - believed to be a gift from Prince Albert to Queen Victoria. Keeping in mind the ecology of the space, to help maintain its beauty, native water lilies, yellow flag iris, flowering rush and purple loosestrife were rooted in cages just below the water as part of a recent restoration. New walkways help ducks get in and out of the water.

Imbibe & Indulge at Bibendum

The first Michelin Guide for the British Isles was published in 1911 to encourage travel and boost car and tyre sales. Bibendum is the name of Michelin’s mascot. Claude Bosi’s signature restaurant is set amongst stained glass windows above the oyster bar. Iconic food, wine and bubbles in a most iconic Chelsea location.
